Welcome! I began pursuing a Master of Arts in Counseling in 2020 after a growing awareness of the need for more counselors. I was especially burdened by increasing numbers of people struggling with trauma, depression, and suicidal ideation. I felt like I could do more if I knew more. As I progressed in my program, I have been drawn to working with military and emergency responders struggling with post-traumatic stress, depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, and substance use. I absolutely love meeting people where they are stuck and hurting, and I am here to help.I am currently located in Denton, Texas and work for Converge Counseling and Couple Therapy while I start my own practice, Cedarwood Counseling. I am able to meet the needs of Texans seeking either virtual or in-person sessions. Contact me for a free 15 minute consultation.
What is a session with me like?
Sessions with me are pretty laid back and conversational. I ask a lot of questions to explore the issues you are bringing to counseling. I like a collaborative effort with my clients so that we work together to bring healing in the counseling room. I like to joke around and you are free to be real and be yourself here. I aim to create a safe working environment to explore deep issues. Lastly, I personally feel honored to earn the right to hear your story, whatever you are comfortable sharing with me.
